Radar Signal Simulator UHF Remote Description

EDO's Radar Signal Simulator (RSS) AN/PLM-4 UHF Remote option provides aircraft pilots and maintenance personnel an end-of-runway Electronic Warfare (EW) systems checkout capability prior to takeoff. The UHF remote option circuitry is located in the RSS top cover. Air crew or maintenance personnel can key, in a pre-defined sequence at a user programmable frequency, the aircraft UHF radio to start or stop a preprogrammed emitter scenario. The AN/PLM-4 RSS free-space radiates the simulated emitters at the aircraft receive antennas enabling the operator to verify correct functioning of onboard Electronic Warfare (EW) systems.
